Since I was in 8th grade, I knew I wanted a career in art, I just needed to figure out which direction I wanted to go with it. After taking a few art classes in high school, I discovered that graphic design and photography were my passions.
Going into college I explored both even further as well as other mediums and found that graphic design was where I wanted my focus to be. As a perfectionist, I enjoy the absolute control the computer gives you over everything from shape to color.
In my junior and senior years of college, I was given more freedom over what projects I chose to do. My main focus was merging graphic design and photography. The projects that resulted were vector based portraits and photo manipulation.
I liked testing different overlays and textures in my photos, but where I found my true passion was in the vector portraits. The intricacies of the line work and color selections really called to me. In this way, I was able to stylize any photo in whatever way I chose.
